(AV)
technology
is
going
so
fast
that
it
is
very
difficult
to
keep
up
with
the
pace
in
academics.
There
is
a
need
to
update
the
students
by
way
of
teaching
them
the latest products and installation techniques.
The
audiovisual
(AV)
industry
has
come
a
long
way.
Not
long
ago,
it
was
known
primarily
as
the
source
for
overhead
projectors,
projection
screens,
and
basic
audio
equipment.
Today,
the
AV
industry
consists
of
designing
and
installing
sophisticated
multimedia
and
integrated
systems
built
into
a
building’s
environment,
as
well
as
creating live events for sports, entertainment, and corporate presentations.
Acoustics,
lighting,
and
other
building
infrastructure
have
always
been
important
in
spaces
where
AV
communications
occur.
With
the
advent
of
new
technologies,
the
room
environment
and
the
physical
infrastructure
became
even
more
important
to
AV
design and integration. In my lectures I cover all these aspects of modern AV system.
Fundamentally in my lectures, i cover, AV design and integration with four basic
but essential elements:
•
The hardware or the physical electronics connected together.
•
The software or programs loaded into the electronics to perform various
AV tasks.
•
The environment or the space and infrastructure within which the
hardware and software work.
•
The content, which includes video, audio, and data material created and
presented using the available software and hardware.
